Justin Shaver is a contemporary abstract painter based in Columbus, Ohio. Working primarily in oil, his practice explores structure, spatial tension, and the evolving relationship between landscape and architecture.
Each composition begins with an architectural framework that is reconfigured through layered glazing and controlled subtraction. Through this process, a distinct visual language has emerged—defined by structured forms, restrained color, and expanding atmospheric space.
Shaver’s recent work focuses on large-scale architectural paintings designed to command physical space and guide the viewer’s movement across the surface.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
